Why did you decide to study in Magdeburg?
Firstly it’s a cheap city in terms of Cost of living & accomodation for students. Secondly, it’s quite nearer to the German capital city of Berlin. Thirdly due to the establishment of famous Max Plank & Franhofer institute.
What have your studies and the city to offer you?
I am currently studying M.Sc in Chemical & Energy engg. which is quite relevant for my profile as I have already got some industrial experinces & wanted to further pursue my carrer in this field. The city of Magdeburg has a lot to offers to students like me who wants to explore the european culture and work in order to either innovative something or simply create a change in the direction of sustainable development.
Can you apply what you learn in your studies to your everyday/private life?
Creating new technologies always revolves around solving present & future challenges and “Yes” I can successfully apply my understanding to solve complex and simple problems of everyday life in a more structured manner now.
Do your studies help you to define your goals for the future?
My current Course subjects are highly specific in nature in terms of applications and they will definitely help in shaping my career. I can certainly apply my acquired technical knowledge either in research or Industrial field in the future.
Has your vision for the future evolved during your studies?
My course structure has actually enlarged my vision in process engineering field. Now I even better understand the European job market and it’s exact requirements.
Which advice would you have for starting students or for pupils who want to know more about studying in Magdeburg?
Students should learn the applications of subjects in Industries more rather than just it’s theoretical concepts. One should be more proactive here in Magdeburg and should utilize every available opportunity either through online networking sites or through experience from existing students.
What do you want to do after your studies?
I want to again join the industry in some more responsible profiles where I can showcase my knowlegde and acquired skillsets.
Do you engage yourself with other projects outside the university?
If I get some relevant opportunities, then I will definitely try to engage myself in some projects outside the university. So I am still open for new project and connections.
Why should someone decide to come to the University of Magdeburg, to the faculty of Process and Systems engineering?
The FVST department of OVGU Magdeburg is one of the most reputed institutes for studying Process and allied engineering courses in Germany due to it’s excellent lab infrastructure, diverse course structure, close proximity to work in collaboration with other famous research institutes and for receiving better industrial opportunities due to the unique location of Magdeburg in central Germany. So if someone is related to Chemical or process related fields, then one should definitely explore and study in FVST department of OVGU Magdeburg.
