At least at the beginning I chose Chemistry by chance, but later the choice was confirmed for me. Chemistry requires logical thinking, which I like very much. It gets to the bottom of things and makes contributions that make our lives better and safer. At the moment, I am concerned with energy as an overarching topic. This includes several areas of work, such as microporous materials as catalysts and energy stores, as well as thermoelectric materials.

Motivation

I am enthusiastic about implementing my own ideas, but also helping my employees to work on their ideas. I also enjoy helping to shape and improve our university as Vice Rector for Studies and Teaching. I am enthusiastic about the responsibility that my position entails.

Requirements

I would like to recommend my job to all young people who don’t want a predetermined path and everyday work, who want to get involved in new and exciting things and are also willing to invest a lot of time and energy.

Advice

Keep your thirst for knowledge and your curiosity. Do not be intimidated by changing situations, but adjust to them. Realize your own strengths and motivate yourself. Don't shy away from challenges, try everything.

Challenges

I always looked ahead and knew what I wanted to achieve. It's important to think about your priorities and sometimes say no to things that don't fit your plans. Support from family and friends can also help a lot.
