Award for Student of the Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering

Mr. B. Sc. Florian Brömel was awarded with the VDI Award 2015 for its outstanding undergraduate thesis on "Thermal energy recovery in an incineration plant to reduce the heating costs for a district heating network".
The scientific work is characterized by the applicable results to utilize the waste heat of melting processes. It was created under the supervision of Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Mathias Meinen from the company Trimet Aluminium SE in Harzgerode and JProf. Dr.-Ing. Fabian Herz from the Institute of Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg.
