Election of the Top 100 Medicine Makers 2015 - Prof. Seidel-Morgenstern is One of Them

25.06.2015 -

The journal "The Medicine Maker" recently published their Power-List of the 100 most important researchers and entrepreneurs in the field of medicine development. Our own Prof. Andreas Seidel-Morgenstern, tenured professor for chemical process engineering, is one of them!

Together with Prof. Seeberger of the MPI of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam, Prof. Seidel Morgenstern performed research on the efficient production of Arteminisin, presently the most effective active substance against malaria, for which they received the "Humanity in Science" award in March. Together with their coworkers, the two successfully developed an plant extraction process, the result of which is a medicine of high purity. In earlier times this would have been carried out by "medicine makers." Today, our experienced process engineers develop new pathways towards helpful medicine. Imitation is well desired! Our congratulations to Prof. Seidel-Morgenstern on his successful placement!
