Topics Day for study and career guidance for secondary school students at the University Magdeburg

The Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg invites secondary school students to a Topics Day for study and career guidance.
As such, the OVGU is participating in the nationally held Girls’Day and Boys’Day for the third time.

Boys and girls from grade level 7 through 10 will receive an intensive look into the career opportunities that result from a university degree.
They have an opportunity to talk to scientists, staff, and students, they will meet men and women who develop electric cars, invent new materials that overcome gravity, treat diseases with high-tech medical equipment, program search engines online for convenient purchases, or are planning the classroom of the future.

The goal of the event format established in 2013 is to inform, motivate, and specifically counter stereotypes about disciplines and professional fields.

Topic 14 + 15: "Tour of the Rain Wind Channel 1+2"
Wind tunnels are used in many research fields of applied fluid mechanics. They allow you to selectively adjust and regulate flow properties (velocity, turbulence). Flow around a miniature sports car with artificial fog: visualization of a vehicle’s "fluid dynamic vulnerability".
