Third FVST Ladies’ Night for Women in MINT, “Individually Designed Careers”

22.03.2016 -

A career is individual and flexible, and does not follow a fixed scheme! The three speakers, Prof. Dr. Dana Zöllner, Dr.-Ing. Tanja Vidakovic-Koch, and Julia Krahl’s resumés and greatly different career paths demonstrate this very clearly. They also show that their careers may indeed differ from those of their male colleagues.

The speakers’ presentations will shed light on the question of why nowadays women in leadership positions, while indeed socially absolutely accepted, is still an exception to the rule. Even though various funding instruments sometimes make it easier for women, this still remains to be the case. Why then is it, that there are only a handful of female professors in MINT areas at OvGU? How does OvGU, MPI, and the industry work on enabling more women with the chance of a professorship or an industry leadership position?

The FVST Ladies’ Night for Women in MINT provides insight and is initiated by the Faculty of Process and Systems Engineering for the third time running. Students and doctoral candidates from the entire MINT field are invited!

Following the presentations, the speakers and other excellent OvGU and MPI scientists and laureates will be available to touch base with at the "Market of Possibilities". Moreover OvGU, MPI, and Solvay GmbH will introduce funding instruments and scholarships - the perfect way for students and doctoral candidates to establish networks and at the same time lay the foundation for their own career planning!
